Overview
Are you a hands-on, detail-oriented individual with a passion for manufacturing? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Extrusion Production Operative to join our growing team. In this vital role, you’ll operate machinery, ensure product quality, and contribute to a safe and efficient working environment, producing high-quality polyethylene pipe on our Extrusion Line. Also, with the scope to be trained how to weld fabrications for major Water Utility Companies.
Hours of work: Two-week shift cycle:
Week 1: 4 on / 3 off
Week 2: 3 on / 4 off
12 hours per shift with rotating times.
Days - 6am - 6pm
Nights - 6pm - 6am.
A shift schedule for the remainder of the year would be given to you.
- Operate and monitor extrusion line machinery, coilers, and material handling equipment.
- Conduct hourly quality checks and accurately record results.
- Receive, store, and handle raw materials using FIFO (First In, First Out) methods.
- Log production output, scrap, and non-compliances using our inhouse system.
- Identify and report non-compliant product following set procedures.
- Support production efficiency by applying SMART working principles and reducing waste.
- Assist with fabrication on butt fusion and electrofusion machines (training provided).
- Proactively report hazards, near misses, and contribute to a culture of safety.
- Maintain and care for plant equipment – reporting faults or damage as needed.
- Actively participate in ISO compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Uphold company standards for health & safety, conduct, and environmental practices.
- Contribute to team KPIs around safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
- Support the Operation Clean Sweep initiative to reduce plastic waste.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment (extrusion preferred), training is also provided.
- Strong team player with a proactive attitude and can communicate effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Comfortable using precision measuring tools (e.g. micrometers, calipers, OD tape).
- Forklift/telehandler experience, training is also available.
- Willingness to complete relevant training courses internally and externally.

Pay: £16.50-£16.75 per hour
