Fleetwood Town Football Club is seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic Groundsman to join the Grounds Team. The successful candidate will support the Head Groundsman and Deputy Head Groundsman in maintaining all natural and synthetic playing surfaces across Highbury Stadium and Poolfoot Farm to the highest professional standards.
The role involves assisting with the day-to-day maintenance and presentation of the Club's pitches and surrounding grounds, ensuring facilities are safe, visually outstanding and prepared for training sessions, fixtures and events throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities-
Assist with the daily maintenance of all natural grass playing surfaces at Highbury Stadium and Poolfoot Farm.

Support the maintenance and upkeep of the Club's 4G synthetic pitches in line with manufacturer recommendations.

Carry out routine grounds maintenance, including mowing, line marking, divoting, aeration, brushing, seeding and pitch repairs.

Prepare pitches for all fixtures and training sessions.

Maintain landscaped areas surrounding the stadium and training ground to a high standard.

Operate grounds machinery and equipment safely and effectively, ensuring all equipment is cleaned after use.

Carry out routine machinery checks and report faults to the Deputy Head Groundsman or Head Groundsman.

Assist with setting up and clearing equipment required for training sessions, matches and events.

Help maintain stores, workshops and grounds maintenance equipment in a clean, safe and organised condition.

Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.

Assist in maintaining accurate records of completed maintenance work where required.

Work collaboratively with colleagues across football and operations departments to support the Club's activities.

Travel between Highbury Stadium and Poolfoot Farm as required.

Undertake any other reasonable duties requested by the Head Groundsman or Deputy Head Groundsman.
Person Specification
Essential-
A genuine passion for sports turf maintenance and grounds management.

Previous experience working in grounds maintenance, landscaping, horticulture or a similar outdoor environment.

Willingness to learn and develop within a professional football environment.

Good understanding of the safe operation of machinery and equipment.

Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to working hours.

Full UK Driving Licence.

Willingness to work evenings, weekends and matchdays.
Desirable-
NVQ Level 2 (or working towards) in Sports Turf Maintenance or a related qualification.

Experience maintaining natural or synthetic sports surfaces.

Previous experience within a professional sports club or similar environment.

PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates.

Basic understanding of irrigation systems and turf maintenance practices.

First Aid qualification.
