The Role
We are recruiting on behalf of an established and growing business in the temporary access and site solutions sector for an experienced Yard Operative / A21 Wheeled Loader Driver to join their team in Abingdon.
This is a hands-on role within a busy yard environment, supporting the preparation, loading and unloading of equipment used on sites across the UK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring equipment is cleaned, stacked and prepared for upcoming jobs, while assisting with the loading and unloading of HGVs and maintaining a safe and organised yard.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating an A21 Wheeled Loader with forks within the yard
- Loading and unloading equipment from HGVs
- Cleaning and washing equipment ready for future jobs
- Stacking and preparing equipment for transport
- Keeping the yard clean, tidy and organised
- Following all Health & Safety and environmental procedures
- Working closely with other members of the operations team
- Following instructions accurately and completing tasks efficiently
- Supporting general yard duties as required
Requirements
- A21 Wheeled Loader qualification with forks - essential
- Previous experience operating a wheeled loader within a yard or similar environment
- Full UK driving licence
- Good understanding of Health & Safety within an operational environment
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
- Comfortable using your own initiative when required
- Flexible regarding early starts and overtime
- CSCS card desirable but not essential
The successful candidate will also be required to complete the relevant pre-employment checks.
