Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in accounting and experience using various accounting software packages. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and supporting the organisation’s financial processes. This position offers flexible hours suitable for those seeking part-time employment within a professional environment.
Duties
- Maintain and update financial records using recognised accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently and accurately
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is correctly entered and up-to-date
- Assist with preparing financial reports and statements as required
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant financial regulations
- Organise and file financial documents systematically for easy retrieval and audit purposes
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within a similar industry
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is essential
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general ledger management
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance are desirable but not essential
