Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner/ Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and a desire to support their development in a nurturing environment. As a Nursery Practitioner Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating atmosphere for children, helping them to learn and grow through play and structured activities.
The role is based on part time basis with a minimum of 10 hours a week and then subject to demand thereafter. Initially looking for Tuesday and Wednesdays.
Ideal for an exisitng local Nursery worker looking for additional hours, a L2 qualified looking for hours towards their L3, or someone looking for a part time role who is willing to be flexible with shifts. Additional shifts potentially available
Must be either Level 3 qualified or a level 2 with several years experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and implementation of daily activities that promote learning and development for children.
- Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Support the lead nursery staff in managing the classroom environment, maintaining cleanliness, and organising resources.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster positive relationships.
- Observe children's progress and report any concerns regarding their development or behaviour to senior staff.
- Help with basic administrative tasks such as record keeping and maintaining attendance logs.
- Drive children to local outings or events as required.
Skills
- Proven experience in childcare or early childhood education is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage groups of children effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being capable of taking initiative when necessary.
- A genuine passion for nurturing children's growth and development through engaging activities.
- Familiarity with nursery settings and understanding of child development principles.
- A valid driving licence is an advantage for transporting children when needed.
