Transport & Logistics Supervisor / Manager
- Operate company Van and HGV Class 2 vehicles to deliver products safely and efficiently to external customers and branch locations.

Be responsible for the day-to-day operation of assigned vehicles and ensure compliance with all road transport legislation.

Maintain full compliance with Driver CPC requirements, tachograph regulations, working time directives, and all relevant transport legislation.

Complete daily vehicle checks and ensure vehicles are roadworthy before commencing any journey.

Report vehicle defects, accidents, damage, or compliance concerns immediately to the Transport & Logistics Supervisor/Manager.

Assist with the loading of vehicles and ensure all items loaded correspond with delivery documentation.

Ensure loads are secured correctly and safely before leaving site.

Deliver goods safely and professionally, minimizing the risk of damage during transit.

Assist with unloading deliveries at customer sites and branch locations. Manual handling and handball loading/unloading will be required.

Verify delivery quantities against delivery notes and resolve discrepancies where possible.

Obtain accurate proof of delivery, including customer signature, printed name, date, and any additional information required.

Maintain a professional and courteous manner when representing the company at customer locations.

Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and returned promptly.

Keep vehicles clean, presentable, and compliant with company standards.

Undertake warehouse, yard, stock movement, or other reasonable duties as required when driving duties are unavailable.

Comply with all company policies, procedures, and transport regulations.

Carry out any other reasonable duties required to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.
We operate a small in-house driving team, and it is essential that all team members support one another during busy periods and periods of absence.
A flexible approach is therefore required, including:

Providing cover for other drivers where operationally necessary.

Operating both Van and HGV Class 2 vehicles depending on business requirements and licence entitlements.

Supporting warehouse, yard, and logistics activities when required.

Working overtime when necessary to ensure customer service levels are maintained.
Holiday requests must be coordinated carefully across the driving team to ensure adequate operational cover. Normally, only one member of the team may be on annual leave at any one time, except during company shutdown periods or exceptional circumstances.

This role carries responsibility for maintaining the highest standards of road safety, legal compliance, and professional customer service while representing the company.
- Full-time position: 42.5 hours per week.

Monday to Friday.

Early starts are required to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements.

Saturday working may be required and will be paid at time and a half.

Sunday working may be required and will be paid at double time.

No overnight stays or overnight tramping required.

Flexibility to work additional hours when necessary to meet operational demands.
- Minimum 2 years' experience driving HGV Class 2 vehicles.

Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.

Valid Driver CPC qualification.

Valid Digital Tachograph Card.

Good knowledge of driver hours regulations and transport compliance requirements.

Please note: Whilst a valid Class 2 driving licence is an essential requirement of this role, the successful candidate will also be required to drive company Luton vans and other company vehicles as required by operational needs.
