Gallery Assistant (Part-Time)
Location: Southwold Gallery, Southwold, Suffolk
Pay: £12.75 per hour
Hours: 1–2 days per week, including occasional weekends
Southwold Gallery is one of Suffolk's leading independent art galleries, representing a wide range of talented artists and welcoming visitors from across the UK and beyond.
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Gallery Assistant to join our small team on a part-time basis.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys meeting people, providing excellent customer service and working in a creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming visitors to the gallery
- Assisting customers with enquiries and purchases
- Processing sales through our computer system
- Managing emails and general administration
- Helping maintain the presentation of the gallery
- Supporting exhibitions and events as required
What We're Looking For
- A pleasant and professional manner
- Strong people and communication skills
- Confidence using computers, email and basic office software
- Good attention to detail
- Reliability and flexibility
- Previous retail or customer-facing experience is desirable
- An interest in art would be an advantage, although not essential
