Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Fitter to join our workshop team based at our depot on Youngs Industrial Estate, Tadley.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and skilled technician who takes pride in maintaining vehicles to the highest standards. You will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet of HGVs and specialist vacuum excavation vehicles remain safe, compliant, and ready for work.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs and specialist equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
- Complete repairs efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure ongoing roadworthiness and legal compliance.
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify faults.
- Carry out inspections and complete all maintenance records accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
- Follow all Health & Safety policies and workshop procedures.
- Work closely with the Workshop Manager and Operations Team to prioritise fleet availability.
- Assist with roadside breakdowns or emergency repairs where required.
- Identify potential issues before they become major failures, helping to improve fleet reliability.
About You
We're looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking and passionate about maintaining commercial vehicles to the highest standard.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter.
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (preferred), or a completed apprenticeship.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Experience working on HGVs and commercial vehicles (experience with hydraulic systems would be advantageous).
- A full UK Driving Licence.
- A Class 2 (Category C) HGV Licence would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude with a proactive approach to problem solving.
