Committed Support are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join their children's residential service in Hartlepool.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated childcare professional who is passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes. You will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive home environment while helping to lead and develop a team of Residential Support Workers.
The Role
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support the day-to-day operation of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered at all times. You will act as a positive role model for both staff and young people, promoting a therapeutic and child-centred approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and mentor Residential Support Workers within the home.
- Deliver high-quality care and support tailored to each young person's individual needs.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Work in partnership with families, social workers, education providers, and external professionals.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of care plans and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
- Participate in team meetings, reviews, and training sessions.
- Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for all young people.
- Support the management team in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and organisational policies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working within a residential childcare setting.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Strong leadership and team-working skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices, childcare legislation, and residential care standards.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Own vehicle with business insurance.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
