Hospitality Supervisor

Job Purpose

The Hospitality Supervisor plays a key role in leading the front-of-house team, overseeing day-to-day hospitality operations, and ensuring our customers receive outstanding service. You will be responsible for upholding brand standards, managing food safety compliance, controlling wastage, and ensuring that high-end hospitality events run seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
Hospitality & Service Delivery
- Events Management: Collaborate with the Management Team to plan, set up, execute, and clear down special functions, school events, and high-end hospitality offerings. Maintaining an annual events focused calendar with staffing overtime requirements
- Kalpna- Full oversite and management of the onsite booking system.
- Operational Oversight: Lead the daily front-of-house and hospitality operations, ensuring service and presentation areas are kept to an exceptional standard. And assume role of duty manager in rotation with management team.
- Hands-on Support: Actively support the team on the floor by serving customers, replenishing stocks, and ensuring prompt clear-down. This will include Core Lunch Service rotation.
- Quality Control: Ensure all food and beverages served meet strict company presentation and quality standards, while actively managing and controlling food wastage.
Compliance, Health & Safety
- Safety Standards: Enforce strict adherence to UK Food Hygiene laws, Thomas Franks Health & Safety policies, and allergen control procedures.
- Due Diligence: Ensure all daily and weekly due diligence paperwork, temperature checks, and cleaning schedules are completed accurately.
- Dietary Awareness: Maintain an advanced understanding of special dietary requirements and allergen awareness to safeguard customers and pupils.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervision & Mentorship: Motivate, empower, and delegate daily tasks to front-of-house assistants, creating a cohesive and supportive team environment.
- Standards Training: Assist in training and mentoring staff on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), customer service etiquette, and site-specific tasks, ensuring the team wears the appropriate uniform proudly.
Core Skills & Competencies Required
- Will have to have go through a Enhanced DBS Check
- Must have a Full Manual Driving UK Valid License
- Experience: Proven experience working as a supervisor or experienced assistant within a fast-paced, high-volume catering or hospitality environment (independent school or B&I sector preferred).
- Technical Skills: Must have strong computer literacy and be comfortable managing an email account and dealing with customer queries.
- Leadership: Excellent team player with natural leadership abilities, strong organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Communication: Fluent in verbal and written English with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Qualifications: Possession of (or willingness to work toward) a Level 2 Food Hygiene and a Level 2 Health & Safety qualification.
