The Role
Povoas Packaging is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual who would like to begin their career in Flexographic Printing. This role involves supporting printing operations using modern, high-performance machinery to produce polythene-based products to the highest quality standards. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideal for someone who is looking to develop their skills and grow within a forward-thinking company.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and mix inks ahead of scheduled print jobs to ensure timely production
- Accurately read, interpret and implement job specification sheets
- Assist with the setup and operation of flexographic printing presses
- Monitor print runs, ensuring output meets required quality standards
- Carry out colour matching and make precise adjustments as needed
- Optimise machine performance and press speeds to maximise efficiency and minimise waste
- Identify, troubleshoot and help resolve machine or process issues
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping across ink stores, plate rooms and production areas
- Complete all required production documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Adhere strictly to all Health & Safety procedures, including DSEAR regulations
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) including PPE, hygiene and quality standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production process
- Undertake any other reasonable duties within your training and capability
Requirements
- You must be 18 or over to work in the factory.
- Ability to read and interpret technical job specifications
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Good problem-solving skills and mechanical awareness
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work a rotating continental shift pattern
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE level or equivalent)
