Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized care to residents in accordance with individual care plans, promoting independence and respecting their preferences.
- Supervise and support junior care staff, ensuring high standards of care delivery and adherence to policies.
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility, always maintaining their dignity.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, updates to care plans, and resident progress using IT systems efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members to coordinate care and address needs promptly.
- Support residents’ emotional well-being through companionship, active listening, and engaging activities.
- Drive or assist with transportation needs for appointments or outings when required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a care home or senior care environment with supervising responsibilities.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting confidently with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of care planning processes and ability to follow detailed care instructions accurately.
- Competency in using IT systems for documentation and record keeping related to resident care.
- Valid driving license preferred for transportation duties; willingness to assist with driving when necessary.
- Previous experience in supervising staff or leading shifts is highly desirable.
