Abbeygate Rest Home is part of the local Broadgate Homes Group and is a small friendly home of just 24 rooms that has a close and friendly team whose priority is delivering care to our residents.
Abbeygate Rest Home is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Activities Co-ordinator to join our dedicated team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering a varied programme of activities that promotes the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of our residents. You will take the time to get to know our residents, understand their interests and abilities, and create meaningful experiences that enhance their quality of life.
Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 2-week rolling rota
- Week 1: 24 hours
- Week 2: 32 hours
- Every other weekend off
Pay £12.81 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organise, and deliver engaging daily activities and events for residents
- Develop individual and group activities tailored to residents' needs, interests, and abilities
- Encourage participation and support residents to maintain their independence and wellbeing
- Create and maintain monthly activity schedules and activity records
- Work closely with residents, families, staff, volunteers, and community groups to enhance the activities programme
- Ensure activities are meaningful, inclusive, and person-centred.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working as an Activities Co-ordinator, or in a similar activities role within a care setting
- Experience planning and delivering activities for older adults, including those living with dementia
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Competent computer skills, including the ability to create activity schedules and maintain records electronically
- A caring, positive, and enthusiastic approach to supporting older people.
