Role Overview
As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for converting approved design concepts into precise technical drawings and production documentation to support our workshop and installation teams. You will play a key role in ensuring that every kitchen is manufactured and installed to the highest standard, working closely with designers, project managers, and the production team.
This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the capability to deliver high volumes of accurate documentation within agreed timeframes.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Design & Documentation
· Produce accurate technical drawings and workshop-ready documentation from approved client designs.
· Ensure all drawings adhere to Krantz standards, construction methods, and workshop capabilities.
· Maintain drawing records, revisions, and documentation for each project.
Collaboration & Workflow
· Work closely with Designers, Project Managers, and the Workshop team to ensure seamless project handovers.
· Respond promptly to feedback or technical queries from the workshop and installation teams.
· Attend internal meetings and contribute to the smooth running of project delivery.
Project Delivery & Accuracy
· Check all technical drawings against design specifications before release.
· Identify potential issues (site constraints, fitting complexities, design anomalies) and propose solutions.
· Maintain consistent quality standards across multiple projects simultaneously.
KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
Performance in this role will be measured by:
· Project Output – Number of project drawing packs delivered per month.
· Accuracy Rate – Drawings requiring minimal amendment or rework.
· Timeliness – Meeting internal deadlines for drawing issue in line with project schedules.
· Collaboration – Effective communication and support provided to the wider team.
Key Skills and Qualifications
· Proven experience as a CAD Technician, preferably within bespoke furniture, joinery, or kitchen design.
· Strong technical knowledge of cabinetry construction, joinery methods, and materials.
· Proficiency in relevant CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) – training on Krantz systems will be provided.
· High attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
· Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
· Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to collaborate across teams.
