We are seeking an organised and flexible Multiskilled Engineer with an Electrical trade specific background to complete reactive and planned tasks within the building services team, to support with the delivery of the University’s Estates Strategy and departmental objectives.
Hours of work are Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 4.30pm Friday 8.30am – 4.00pm with Out of Hours support on a rota basis of 1 in 4 weeks.
No two days are the same as you work across our new and old campus predominantly within the reactive maintenance team. Delivering a wide range of repairs and services to ensure the estate remains operational at all times.
You will be:
- Providing support for all aspects of reactive and planned maintenance as required, ensuring delivery of a high standard, quality service to meet client expectations.
- Carrying out reactive works as per helpdesk requests to complete works in the time scales set out in our Service Level Agreement.
- Reporting defects.
- Complete highest quality repairs
- Be responsible for your own and the teams Health and Safety on site.
- Attend training.
- Form part of the emergency 24 hour call out rota.
- Work to Standard Operating Procedures.
About You
We are looking for a Multiskilled engineer Electrical bias to join our current team, holding a qualification in electrical work to NVQ level 2 with demonstratable knowledge of maintenance works in a fast-paced environment as you will work in our student halls of residence and our academic spaces.
Having a full & current UK driving licence is essential for this role as some travel is required between our campus locations (all local to Northampton) and to enable you to support our Out of Hours repairs service on a rota with our other engineers.
You should be able to demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills and be able to work accurately and safely
