Job Summary
We are seeking a caring and responsible Breakfast Club Play Worker to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will supervise and engage with children during breakfast club hours (7am-9am Monday -Thursday/Friday), ensuring a safe, nurturing, and fun environment. This role is essential in supporting children's social, emotional, and developmental needs before they begin their school day. Experience working with children, especially in early years or primary school, is highly valued. The Breakfast Club Play Worker will promote positive behavior and assist with basic classroom activities to foster a welcoming atmosphere for young learners.
Duties
- Supervise children during breakfast club hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote social interaction and developmental growth
- Assist children with breakfast routines, including helping with eating and hygiene as needed
- Implement behavior management strategies to encourage positive conduct and cooperation
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised environment
- Provide first aid when necessary, following established health and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to address individual needs and concerns
- Promote inclusive play and ensure all children feel valued and engaged
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in early years or primary school is preferred
- experience in providing fun and engaging games and activities for children.
- Certification in first aid is desirable; willingness to obtain certification if not already held
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and families
- Compassionate, patient, and attentive to the needs of young children
- Experience with behavior management strategies for young children is preferred
- Reliable and punctual with a genuine passion for supporting children's growth and well-being
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.90-£13.20 per hour
