Job Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Employment Advisor who shares our passion for communities, believes in the potential of every individual and enjoys working in a busy, supportive and collaborative environment. Our Community Pathways projects run from August 2026 - March 2029.
Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality employment and skills support to individuals within a vibrant community setting, helping people overcome barriers and achieve sustainable employment, education or training outcomes.
Alongside managing their own caseload, the Senior Employment Advisor will act as a senior member of the Employment & Skills team, supporting colleagues to deliver exceptional participant support whilst maintaining high standards of compliance, contract performance and client experience.
The postholder will play a key role in building relationships across the local community, developing referral partnerships, promoting Evolve’s services and ensuring our community hub remains a welcoming, inclusive places where people of all ages and backgrounds feel supported.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example, thrives in a community environment and is passionate about improving opportunities for local people.
Key Responsibilities
Participant Support
· Manage a caseload of participants, providing personalised Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG), coaching and mentoring.
· Develop tailored action plans and support individuals to progress into employment, education or training.
· Deliver high-quality one-to-one appointments, workshops and group sessions.
· Identify barriers to employment and coordinate appropriate interventions and specialist referrals.
· Ensure every participant receives an excellent, person-centred service.
Team Leadership & Operational Support
· Act as a senior member of the Employment & Skills team, providing day-to-day support to colleagues.
· Share knowledge, good practice and practical guidance to improve service delivery.
· Support colleagues with complex participant cases and problem-solving.
· Assist with the induction and mentoring of new staff.
· Promote consistency in case management, customer service and participant engagement.
· Work alongside the Programme & Partnerships Manager to identify areas for continuous improvement.
Community Engagement & Partnership Development
· Be an ambassador for Evolve within local communities.
· Build strong relationships with referral agencies, community organisations, employers and local stakeholders.
· Develop referral pathways that increase access to Employment & Skills services.
· Represent Evolve at networking events, and community forums.
· Promote Evolve’s services throughout the community.
· Support community outreach activities to engage residents who may not traditionally access employment support.
· Take an active role in community events, wellbeing activities and hub projects.
· Work collaboratively across Evolve’s wider programmes to maximise opportunities for participants.
Performance & Contract Delivery
· Contribute to achieving contractual targets and key performance indicators.
· Monitor personal performance and support colleagues to achieve their objectives.
· Identify opportunities to improve participant outcomes and service delivery.
· Produce accurate reports and maintain management information systems.
· Support the successful delivery of funded employment programmes.
Person SpecificationEssential
· Experience delivering employment, careers, skills or employability support within funded programs & compliance frameworks.
· Experience supporting people with multiple and complex barriers to employment.
· Experience building productive relationships with community organisations, referral partners and employers.
· Strong coaching and motivational skills.
· Ability to adapt communication style to suit individuals aged 18-65 from diverse backgrounds.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
· Flexible approach to work and willingness to support community activities and events, including occasional evening work where required.
· A genuine passion for community development and helping people achieve positive change.
Desirable
· Information, Advice and Guidance qualification (Level 3 or above).
· Experience mentoring or supporting colleagues.
· Experience undertaking quality assurance or compliance checks.
· Experience of employer engagement and business development.
· Leadership or coaching qualification.
