Overview
We are seeking an experienced manager to join our team at the Oculist pub. We are a female led venue working primarily with female, non-binary & queer DJ collectives to create a safe and vibrant late night space in the heart of Brighton. We are looking for someone who is passionate about music, has excellent communication skills, experience within the late night industry and a drive for growth and development.
The role involves overseeing the running of the venue, mainly on weekends, managing a vibrant team of individuals, door staff and overseeing our DJs.
Duties
- Venue management, key holder
- Open/Close the venue - cash up
- Ensuring weekly, monthly compliance checks are carried out
- Work with the events programmer to ensure events run smoothly
- Cellar management
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Ensure FOH & BOH remain clean, tidy & organised
- Conflict resolution - problem solving
- Staff management, training & development
Qualifications
- Experience within a manager role
- Experience within the late night industry
- Passionate about electronic music
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong attention to detail
- Strong knowledge or passion of electronic music & DJ culture.
Rate of pay is £14-£15 depending on responsibilities.
It will be a part time role 2-3 shifts a week, all evenings
