We're currently recruiting 2 x HGV Class 2 Refuse Drivers to support our local council's frontline refuse collection service.
The Role
As a Team Leader Driver, you will play a key role in delivering essential waste and recycling services across the district. Working Tuesday to Friday, your responsibilities will include:
Start times- 06:30am starts, Guaranteed 10hrs pay per day.
- Driving and operating HGV Class 2 refuse collection vehicles.
- Completing daily vehicle safety checks.
- Accurately completing all required paperwork.
- Leading and supporting the collection crew.
- Collecting household waste, recycling, and garden waste across the district.
- Ensuring work is carried out safely and in line with council procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
- No more than 6 penalty points on your driving licence.
- Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
- A positive attitude with a strong commitment to health and safety.
Training
Successful applicants will be required to attend mandatory training and Health & Safety inductions before commencing work.
Depot Locations
Successful candidates may be based at either:
- Newton Bar Depot, Bradford Road, Wakefield, WF1 2TY
- Carrwood Road Depot, Castleford, WF10 4PS
Please note that drivers may be required to work from different depot locations, and staffing requirements can vary from week to week depending on operational needs.
