Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Playgroup Deputy Leader to join our early childhood education team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the development of young children within a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will assist the Playgroup Leader in organising activities, supervising children, and ensuring a safe and engaging space for learning and play. Experience working with children, childcare, and nursery experience are highly valued, along with strong management and leadership skills.
Duties
- Assist the Playgroup Leader in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote early childhood development.
- Supervise children during playtime, snack time, and organised activities to ensure safety and engagement.
- Support with organising daily routines, including setting up learning materials and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment.
- Foster positive behaviour and social skills among children through encouragement and guidance.
- Maintain effective communication with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and daily activities.
- Help manage administrative tasks such as attendance records and activity documentation.
- Support the organisation of outings or trips by ensuring safety procedures are followed.
- Contribute to creating an inclusive environment that respects diversity and promotes equality.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in a childcare, nursery, or preschool setting.
- Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to supervise children confidently.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Ability to organise activities effectively whilst maintaining a safe environment for children.
- A caring attitude, patience, and enthusiasm for working with young children are essential.
- Relevant qualifications or training in childcare or early childhood education will be considered advantageous. Level 3 childcare or Level 5 Childcare.
