Brian's DIY is one of Brigg's longest-established independent DIY and hardware stores, and we're looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Part-Time Retail Sales & Customer Service Assistant to join our team.
We pride ourselves on delivering excellent customer service. As part of our team, you will play a key role in ensuring every customer receives a friendly, knowledgeable and professional experience, whether they are a home DIY customer or a trade customer.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering excellent customer service and offering advice to customers.
- Serving customers using our EPOS till system.
- Merchandising products and maintaining high standards throughout the store.
- Replenishing shelves and helping to maintain stock levels.
- Receiving, checking and putting away deliveries.
- Assisting with stock ordering, displays and stock takes.
- Keeping the shop clean, tidy and well organised.
- Working closely with supervisors and management to continually improve customer service and store standards.
- Managing your own workload efficiently, prioritising tasks and supporting colleagues whenever required.
- Handling cash and card transactions accurately.
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who:
- Has excellent customer service skills.
- Is friendly, approachable, honest and reliable.
- Works well both independently and as part of a team.
- Can manage multiple tasks in a busy retail environment.
- Takes pride in maintaining high standards throughout the store.
- Is flexible and able to work across our seven-day trading week, including weekends.
- Has a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Previous retail experience is preferred, and knowledge or experience of DIY, hardware, plumbing or building supplies would be an advantage, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Pay
Competitive rate of pay, dependent on experience and the successful applicant.
