Staging Assistant – Temporary Position
Dates: Monday 31st August – Saturday 17th October 2026
Location: Based near Bicester, with travel across the UK
Gillman & Soame, one of the UK’s leading photography companies, is looking for reliable and hardworking Staging Assistants to support our team during the busy autumn photography season. We work with many of the UK’s top schools, universities, and sports teams.
Role Overview
- Transport, set up, and dismantle staging for large group photographs
- Assist photographers by positioning students and groups
- Follow strict health and safety procedures at all times
- Work as part of a small, friendly team
- This is a physically demanding role involving heavy lifting and manual work
Pay & Benefits
- £120 per day, rising to £150 per day if you hold a B+E driving licence
- £10 additional pay per night when staying away from home
- Occasional weekend work (e.g. travel on Sundays), paid at the full day rate
- Hotel accommodation, evening meals, and breakfasts are covered by the company
- Travel expenses are fully paid
Requirements
- Comfortable with early starts (from 5:00 AM)
- Able to travel to our yard in Weston-on-the-Green (near Bicester) – own transport is essential
- Willingness to work away from home
- Physically fit and able to handle heavy equipment
- Reliable, punctual, and a good team player
- DBS check required (provided by the company)
