Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Steel Erector/Site Fitter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and securing structural steel components on various construction sites. Your expertise will ensure that steel frameworks are erected safely, accurately, and efficiently, contributing to the successful completion of large-scale projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, utilizing your technical skills and attention to detail to deliver high-quality results.
Responsibilities
- Erect and assemble structural steel frameworks according to engineering drawings and specifications
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, weld, bolt, and position steel components securely in place
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure precise installation of steel structures
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and masons to coordinate site activities
- Conduct safety inspections during installation processes and adhere strictly to safety protocols at all times
- Assist with site fitting activities including welding, fabrication, and adjustments as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of work progress, materials used, and safety checks throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- Proven experience in structural steel erection or site fitting within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, fabrication processes, and steel assembly methods
- Familiarity with using hand tools (hammers, wrenches) and power tools (drills, grinders) effectively
- Basic understanding of related trades such as carpentry, roofing, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, and construction painting is a plus
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards safety and quality standards
