About the Programme
Supporting Adults Towards Employment (SATE) is designed to support adults experiencing multiple barriers to employment, including long term unemployment, health conditions, disabilities and wider social challenges.
The programme provides personalised support to help participants improve their wellbeing, build confidence, develop skills and progress towards sustainable employment, education or further training. Working collaboratively with employers, health professionals and local partners, SATE delivers tailored interventions that empower participants to achieve positive, long term outcomes.
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated Employability Key Worker to join our Supporting Adults Towards Employment (SATE) team in East Dunbartonshire.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting people to overcome barriers and realise their potential.
As an Employability Key Worker, you will manage a caseload of participants, providing personalised, strengths based support to help them move towards sustainable employment. You will work collaboratively with participants to identify their goals, overcome barriers and develop realistic action plans that support their progression.
Alongside participant support, you will build relationships with employers, Jobcentre Plus, community organisations and local partners to generate referrals, identify opportunities and promote the SATE programme throughout East Dunbartonshire.
Key Responsibilities
Participant Support
- Build positive, professional and trusting relationships with participants.
- Complete holistic assessments to identify strengths, barriers, aspirations and support needs.
- Develop, implement and regularly review personalised action plans.
- Deliver one to one employability coaching and tailored support.
- Support participants to improve confidence, wellbeing, resilience and work readiness.
- Assist participants to access education, accredited training, volunteering and employment opportunities.
- Provide ongoing in work support to help participants sustain employment.
- Signpost participants to specialist support services where appropriate.
Employer and Partnership Engagement
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local employers to create employment opportunities.
- Build effective referral pathways with Jobcentre Plus, health services and community organisations.
- Promote participants to suitable vacancies and support employers with recruitment needs.
- Increase awareness of the SATE programme through networking, partnership working and community engagement.
- Develop knowledge of the local labour market and identify employment opportunities for participants.
Performance and Compliance
- Manage an active caseload in line with agreed performance targets and service standards.
- Maintain accurate, confidential and timely participant records using organisational systems.
- Monitor participant progress and evidence programme outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, safeguarding, health and safety and organisational policies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and quality assurance activities.
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, training and ongoing professional development.
- Support wider organisational priorities and projects where required.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Experience supporting individuals facing multiple or complex barriers.
- Experience working within employability, recruitment, education, community development, social care or a related environment.
- Experience managing a caseload whilst working towards targets and key performance indicators.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate, encourage and empower participants.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital record keeping systems.
- Knowledge of the local labour market or willingness to develop this knowledge.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable
- Experience delivering employability programmes or Supported Employment services.
- Knowledge of the No One Left Behind approach.
- Experience supporting people with health conditions, disabilities or long term unemployment.
- Knowledge of services and support networks across East Dunbartonshire.
- Experience using CRM or case management systems.
- Experience using social media professionally.
- Relevant qualification in Employability, Community Learning and Development, Health and Social Care or a related discipline.
