UK Restoration Services is seeking an experienced Painter & Decorator to join our directly employed, multi-skilled team. The role will involve working on a varied range of heritage, restoration, refurbishment and specialist construction projects.
We are looking for a skilled tradesperson who takes genuine pride in their work and can consistently deliver refined, high-quality finishes. The successful candidate must also be competent in other practical construction disciplines and willing to assist with wider site activities when required.
The Role
Your duties will include:
- Preparing internal and external surfaces to a consistently high standard
- Applying paints, stains, varnishes and other decorative finishes
- Completing detailed cutting-in and finishing work
- Repairing and making good existing surfaces before decoration
- Working with traditional and specialist coatings where required
- Protecting surrounding surfaces, historic fabric and completed works
- Identifying defects and completing snagging and remedial work
- Supporting other trades and carrying out general building or restoration tasks
- Working closely with Site Managers, directly employed tradespeople and subcontractors
- Maintaining clean, organised and safe working areas
- Ensuring all work meets the company’s quality standards and project specifications
About You
You should have:
- Substantial experience as a Painter and Decorator
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to achieve refined finishes
- Strong surface preparation, cutting-in and finishing skills
- Practical experience in other construction or restoration disciplines
- The ability to complete making-good and minor repair works
- A flexible, multi-skilled approach to site work
- A strong understanding of health and safety requirements
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team
- A reliable, professional and quality-focused approach
- A full UK driving licence
Experience working on historic buildings, listed properties, high-specification refurbishment or conservation projects would be advantageous.
