About this opportunity:
Woodruffe is a busy family run livery yard in Epsom , close to Epsom Downs. We have great facilities and horses on the main yard. We have had a number of apprentices over the past 5 years . This is a great opportunity to learn about horses on a busy and very friendly yard. You will be part of a friendly and integrated team and your work will be overseen by the Yard manager and Head Girl and you will work alongside other staff in the team .
Livery yard based on Epsom Downs. Range of horses from young horses starting ridden careers to re Happy hackers, eventers, dressage horses right up to international level. Lovely longstanding team.
Would consider 4 or 5 day week, and live in on site is available. Regular clinics and a few small show
Duties to include but not limited to:
Turning in and out of horses
Morning muck outs (changing for summer routines)
Grooming
Field chores
Yard chores
Tack cleaning
Clipping
Farrier
Opportunities to get involved with plaiting, clipping, show prep etc
Non ridden route only though some exercising available for the right person
Plenty of time given to study and ask questions
Desired skills
Previous horse handling experience a must and details must be shown on application.

Desired qualifications
GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent in Maths and English desired but not essential.
Applicants must not already hold a level 2 or higher in Horse Care.
Driving licence ideal for location but bus stop outside so not an issue

On completion you will have all the skills required for a full time position in the equine industry.
Yard Manager / Equine Groom
Gain qualifications, attend shows and gain riding experience
Potential future employment may be a possibility for the right candidate
Multiple apprentices in the past – One is still working with us as a senior groom 5 years on

Training
Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship
The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
