We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Mentor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education and/or mentoring and a commitment to fostering the growth and development of our learners. As a Mentor, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting children through their educational journey, helping them to achieve their full potential.
Duties
- Provide one-to-one mentoring to children/young adults, focusing on their individual learning needs and goals.
- Assist with education activities, ensuring that sessions are engaging and age-appropriate.
- Support children in developing essential skills such as communication, problem-solving, and social interaction.
- Offer if appropriate, tutoring in subjects such as Maths/English and provide assistance with physical education activities.
- Conduct proofreading of educational materials to ensure clarity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with parents and educators to create tailored learning plans for each child.
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for all children under your care.
Requirements
- Proven experience in mentoring or teaching or/and able to evidence previous exprience and willingness to want to help others
- Strong skills in Maths and the ability to teach these concepts effectively.
- Experience in education is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with children and their families.
- Competent in using Microsoft systems and strong admin skills.
- A background in physical education is advantageous but not essential.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children learn and grow.
- Business insurance (Driving the children to and from sessions).
Highly desirable
Teaching assistant qualification level 3 or above
