We have a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for IT and delivering exceptional customer service in first-line support. Our IT Support Officer role is key in providing, managing and developing our IT services and support to our colleagues and customers across all Newport Live sites.
This role is perfect for someone with IT experience who wants to make a positive impact in the workplace through driving continuous improvement, delivering excellent customer service, and building relationships across all levels with internal colleagues and external partners.
Main duties include:
- Colleague onboarding and offboarding processes
- Account management in systems such as Active Directory and Customer Relationship Management
- Building and deploying desktop and laptop computers, tablets, phones, barcode scanners, card readers, payment devices, printers, photocopiers, and other hardware as required
- Ensuring all IT hardware asset management and technical documentation is kept up to date and accurate
- Assist with writing, editing, and revising IT documentation and user guides, in development of a self-help and IT support platform for Colleagues
- Carrying out maintenance and updates for a wide range of IT systems and applications, collaborating with suppliers and partners as required
- Promotion of cyber security best practices, and support compliance with IT security policies
- Handling of confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Key Essential Experiences and Qualifications for the Role
- Experience working in a similar IT support role
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
- Awareness of information security policies, cyber essentials requirements, and data protection
- Experience of installing, managing, maintaining, and supporting PCs, hardware and software
- Ability to manage and prioritise own workload effectively
- Unfazed when working under pressure to strict deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills; building effective relationships with all internal colleagues and external partners
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle, due to the need to move equipment between sites
Beneficial Experience and Qualifications
- Degree or professional qualifications / certifications related to IT
- Experience of network infrastructure and server support
- Competency in troubleshooting basic network issues
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Cloud technologies, including 365, SharePoint, OneDrive and Entra ID
- Experience of IT asset management, including procurement, renewal, and disposal programmes
- Ability to communicate in Welsh
Additional Information
- As travel between our sites across Newport is required along with the need to transport equipment, you must have a full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle, and be willing to add business use to your insurance policy

Hours: Full time; 37 hours per week with requirement to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business
Starting Salary: £25,949 per annum (Real Living Wage)
