Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support classroom activities and individual student needs. This paid position offers an opportunity to work closely with children, including those with special educational requirements, and contribute positively to their learning journey. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
Duties
- Assist teachers in delivering lesson plans and classroom activities across various subjects, including creative writing.
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, including those with disabilities or autism.
- Support students during lessons, ensuring they stay engaged and motivated.
- Help manage behavioural challenges by implementing positive behaviour strategies.
- Tutor students who require additional help outside of regular lessons to reinforce learning objectives.
- Mentor students by offering guidance and encouragement to develop their confidence and social skills.
- Prepare educational materials and resources tailored to individual student requirements.
- Monitor student progress and communicate observations to teachers and parents as appropriate.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children, particularly in educational or mentoring roles.
- Knowledge of special education needs, including working with individuals with disabilities or autism.
- Strong communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with children, teachers, and parents.
- Creative writing skills to assist in developing engaging learning activities and materials.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also providing independent support where needed.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development and learning.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education or related fields are advantageous but not essential. Pay: £97.85-£100.00 per day
