The Role
These are hands-on leadership roles with responsibility for daily operations, team performance, customer experience and venue results.
Depending on the role and location, you could be working within an Aromi café and pizzeria or Maccaruna, our pasta and gelato venue. Some venues operate daytime café service, while others also provide evening dining and table service.
You will work closely with the General Manager and Operations Manager to improve venue performance, develop the team and deliver the company’s operational and commercial objectives.
Operations and Service
- Lead daily operations across café, counter and/or evening table service.
- Maintain excellent standards of food quality, service, cleanliness and presentation.
- Manage busy trading periods with a clear focus on service flow, queue management and customer experience.
- Ensure opening, closing and shift procedures are completed accurately and consistently.
- Identify operational issues and take responsibility for following them through to resolution.
- Support other Aromi venues when reasonably required.
Team Leadership
- Lead, train and develop a motivated and high-performing team.
- Set clear expectations for hospitality, product knowledge, upselling, efficiency and conduct.
- Provide regular feedback and effective line-management support.
- Prepare and manage rotas within agreed staffing levels and labour budgets.
- Ensure the venue is appropriately staffed for expected levels of trade.
- Manage performance confidently and address issues promptly and constructively.
- Build a positive, accountable and performance-focused team culture.
Commercial Performance
- Work towards daily and weekly sales targets.
- Monitor labour costs, productivity, stock, waste and other key performance indicators.
- Use scheduling and reporting tools to plan labour effectively.
- Review performance throughout the day and adjust staffing or operations where necessary.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve the customer experience.
- Work with the General Manager and Operations Manager to continually improve venue performance.
Systems and Controls
- Oversee POS operations and ensure orders and payments are processed accurately.
- Complete required daily financial checks, reconciliation and reporting.
- Manage stock levels, ordering, deliveries, transfers, rotation and waste.
- Maintain accurate operational records and ensure all required paperwork is completed on time.
- Oversee delivery platforms, ensuring product availability, order accuracy and service quality.
- Follow company procedures and support the introduction of new systems and ways of working.
Standards and Compliance
- Maintain high standards of food safety, health and safety, cleanliness and hygiene.
- Ensure all team members complete the required training and follow company procedures.
- Keep compliance records accurate, complete and ready for inspection.
- Maintain consistent standards across every shift and service period.
- Report maintenance, staffing and operational concerns promptly.

Your day-to-day:
To deliver the best coffee experience to every guest along with the highest levels of customer service. You’ll be making and serving drinks and food to the highest quality possible, operating the till, maintaining stock levels and demonstrating your product knowledge to customers by advising and making suggestions
To assist in the serving of meals to clients and staff and the setting and clearing of tables
To assist in the preparation and serving of beverages to clients and staff
To clean the cafeteria area (floors, cookers etc)
To wash and dry cafeteria pots/utensils and ensure their proper storage
To assist in ensuring a high level of health and safety, cleanliness and food hygiene and to ensure that safe working practices are followed
To report any problems to the shift leader/ supervisor or to one of the directors
To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems
To assist in keeping front-of-counter and shop/toilets/ etc... clean and tidy, at all times
To speak to customers to ensure that they are satisfied with their meals

The Role
This is a hands-on hospitality role in a busy, fast-paced venue. You will help deliver excellent customer service while preparing and serving food and drinks to Aromi’s standards.
Depending on your experience and the needs of the venue, your duties may include counter service, table service, coffee preparation, operating the till and supporting the wider team throughout service.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and provide friendly, efficient and attentive service.
- Prepare and serve food, coffee and other drinks to the required standards.
- Operate the till and process customer orders accurately.
- Take food and drinks to tables and clear tables efficiently.
- Develop strong knowledge of our menu and confidently make recommendations.
- Speak with customers to ensure they are happy with their food, drinks and service.
- Maintain stock levels and keep service areas organised.
- Keep the front counter, dining area, equipment, floors and customer toilets clean and tidy.
- Wash and correctly store service equipment, utensils and other items.
- Follow all food hygiene, health and safety and safe-working procedures.
- Complete the required training and follow Aromi’s established systems and working practices.
- Report customer, maintenance or operational concerns promptly to the manager or shift leader.
- Support your colleagues and complete other reasonable duties required for the smooth operation of the venue.
