Solsken Ltd is currently recruiting Health Care Assistants to join a dedicated care team supporting an adult female with Motor Neurone Disease and complex clinical care needs in her own home in Calverton, Nottingham.

About the Role
You will be supporting an adult female with MND and complex clinical care needs in her own home.
The role involves providing safe, respectful and person-centred support in line with the individual’s care plan, risk assessments, clinical guidance and identified outcomes.
The individual requires support with PEG feeding and other aspects of her complex care. Full person-specific training and competency assessments will be provided before staff are expected to undertake any clinical tasks independently.
Communication is extremely important in this role. Due to the nature of the individual’s condition, applicants must be able to communicate clearly and fluently in English, with patience, sensitivity and confidence. Staff must take the time to understand and respond appropriately to the individual’s needs, wishes, preferences and choices.
The successful candidates should be able to build a warm, respectful and professional working relationship while promoting dignity, independence, comfort and quality of life.
Shifts Available
The following shift is available:
Day shift: Monday - Friday 09:00–17:00
Applicants should be flexible and willing to support the wider care team with additional shifts where possible, including sickness and annual leave cover.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will support an adult female with MND and complex clinical care needs, helping her to remain safe, comfortable and well supported within her own home.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality, person-centred care in line with the individual’s care plan, risk assessments and identified outcomes.
- Supporting the individual with personal care in a respectful, dignified and sensitive manner.
- Providing PEG feeding support in line with agreed clinical protocols, training and assessed competencies.
- Providing other complex clinical care tasks in line with your training, competency assessments and the individual’s care plan.
- Supporting with medication where required and once appropriately trained and assessed as competent.
- Communicating clearly, patiently and respectfully with the individual.
- Taking time to understand and respond to the individual’s needs, wishes, preferences and choices.
- Supporting the individual’s comfort, emotional well-being, dignity and quality of life.
- Following all care plans, risk assessments, moving and handling guidance, clinical protocols and company policies.
- Monitoring for changes in the individual’s health, breathing, comfort, communication, mood or general presentation.
- Reporting concerns promptly and following agreed escalation procedures.
- Working closely with the wider care team, managers, clinical staff and relevant healthcare professionals.
- Maintaining accurate, factual and up-to-date care records.
- Respecting the individual’s home, privacy, routines, preferences and personal choices at all times.
- Working in line with CQC regulations, safeguarding responsibilities, company policies and all relevant health and social care legislation.

- Able to work independently and as part of a dedicated care team.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
Essential Requirements
- Previous care experience.
- Clear and fluent English communication skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to provide respectful and dignified personal care.
- Two valid references.
- Two forms of identification.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
- Willingness to complete all required training and competency assessments.
- Willingness to work towards a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care.
Desirable, But Not Essential
- Previous complex care experience.
- Experience supporting individuals with Motor Neurone Disease.
- Experience supporting individuals with neurological conditions.
- Previous PEG feeding experience.
- Experience with moving and handling, respiratory support or communication needs.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3, or an equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care.
- DBS certificate registered with the Update Service.
Previous PEG or MND experience is beneficial but is not essential, as full training and person-specific competency support will be provided.
