Residential Support Worker – Stoke-on-Trent
We are looking for an experienced Residential Support Worker to join an established Children's Residential Home in Stoke-on-Trent, supporting 2 young people with EBD and Learning Disabilities (LD).
Offering £13.50–£15.00 per hour, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous children's residential experience who is passionate about providing safe, consistent and child-centred support.
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide high-quality day-to-day support to children and young people
- Build positive and professional relationships with young people
- Support young people with routines, education, activities and independence skills
- Support emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour
- Follow individual care plans and risk assessments
- Maintain accurate daily records and handovers
- Maintain excellent safeguarding standards
- Respond calmly and professionally during challenging situations
- Work effectively alongside colleagues and external professionals
- Contribute to a safe, stable and nurturing home environment
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous paid experience within a Children's Residential Home
- Experience supporting children or young people with EBD and/or Learning Disabilities
- Good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Reliable, resilient and comfortable working within a residential care environment
Desirable:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or equivalent
- Previous experience within an Ofsted-regulated children's service
