AiHOMES is looking for a reliable and practical Property Maintenance Assistant to support our property management team across Manchester.
This is a field-based support role. You will regularly attend managed residential properties, check reported issues, complete basic maintenance tasks where suitable, assist with contractor access, support move-in and move-out checks, and report clear updates back to the office team.
This is not a senior trade or full multi-skilled maintenance role. We are looking for someone practical, responsible and hands-on who can help us deal with day-to-day property issues quickly and properly.
Main Duties
- Attend managed properties across Manchester and surrounding areas.
- Check tenant-reported maintenance issues and provide clear photos, videos and notes.
- Carry out simple maintenance tasks where appropriate, such as tightening loose fittings, checking fixtures, replacing small items, minor adjustments and basic touch-ups.
- Identify whether an issue can be handled internally or needs an external contractor.
- Meet contractors on site and help with access arrangements.
- Take completion photos and report whether works appear to be completed.
- Support move-in and move-out checks, key returns, meter readings and property readiness.
- Deliver or collect keys, fobs or small property-related items when required.
- Report urgent, repeated or unresolved issues to the property management team.
- Keep clear records and update the office team after each visit.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 year relevant experience in property maintenance, handyman work, facilities, lettings, property inspections, construction, refurbishment or a similar practical role.
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle are essential.
- Practical, hands-on and comfortable dealing with basic residential property issues.
- Responsible, punctual and reliable.
- Comfortable visiting properties regularly and working independently.
- Able to take clear photos, videos and written notes.
- Able to communicate clearly with tenants, contractors and internal team members.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Mandarin speaking is desirable due to our client base.
- Able to manage daily schedules and travel between appointments efficiently.
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
