Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Chef to join our country kitchen based in Hook, Hampshire. Recently under new management and looking for the right candidates to expand business and menu.
This role involves overseeing food preparation, ensuring high standards of food safety, and managing kitchen operations to deliver a great dining experience. The Chef will play a vital role in maintaining the organisation’s reputation for quality and innovation in cuisine.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient operation and high-quality food production
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and standards
- Oversee food safety procedures, hygiene standards, and compliance with health regulations
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Develop new recipes and menu items to keep offerings fresh and appealing
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and cleanliness to uphold safety standards
- Assist in managing restaurant operations during busy periods or staff shortages
Skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and suppliers
- Experience in restaurant environments with a strong understanding of customer service principles
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
