Help us create an experience people never forget
At The Osteopathic Practice, we believe healthcare should feel different.
Yes, we provide exceptional osteopathic care, but what our patients remember most is often how they were made to feel.
They remember the warm welcome when they arrive feeling anxious. The reassuring voice on the end of the phone. The feeling that someone genuinely listened. The little things that turn an appointment into an experience of being cared for.
We're looking for someone who wants to be part of creating that experience.
Who we are
For the last twenty years we've been supporting people of all ages, from brand new babies just a few days old to patients in their nineties.
A large part of our work is with babies, young children and new families. Parents often contact us when they're worried, exhausted or simply looking for reassurance. The way we welcome them matters just as much as the clinical care they receive.
Everything we do is guided by three values:
Compassion – We treat every person with kindness, empathy and respect.
Integrity – We do the right thing, communicate honestly and always put patients first.
Authenticity – We believe people deserve genuine human connection, not scripts or sales pitches.
If those values resonate with you, we'd love to hear from you.
About the role
This is far more than a reception position.
You'll be the first point of contact for many of our patients and an important part of the reason they choose to trust us.
Some days you'll be welcoming families into the practice. Other days you'll be helping someone find the right appointment, explaining treatment options or talking them through fees with warmth, confidence and clarity. You'll keep the practice running smoothly behind the scenes, making sure every patient receives the exceptional experience we're known for.
You'll work closely with our clinical team, taking pride in creating a calm, organised environment where both patients and colleagues feel supported.
If you enjoy marketing, customer communications or finding ways to create even better experiences for patients, there will be opportunities to develop those skills within the role.
We're looking for someone who:
- Loves helping people and naturally puts others at ease.
- Enjoys building genuine relationships with patients.
- Is warm, calm and reassuring, especially when someone is worried or overwhelmed.
- Is highly organised and enjoys keeping lots of moving parts running smoothly.
- Notices the little things that make people feel welcome and cared for.
- Is comfortable having straightforward conversations about appointments, treatment programmes and fees, always with warmth and clarity.
- Takes ownership and quietly gets things done without needing to be asked.
- Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in doing things well.
- Is confident learning new computer systems.
- Values honesty, professionalism and confidentiality.
- Enjoys being part of a supportive team where everyone helps one another.
Your day might include:
- Welcoming patients into the practice.
- Answering telephone and email enquiries.
- Booking appointments and managing clinicians' diaries.
- Helping patients understand their appointment options.
- Processing payments and completing daily financial administration.
- Preparing the practice for clinics.
- Supporting the clinical team throughout the day.
- Maintaining accurate patient records.
- Ordering supplies and helping keep the practice running smoothly.
- Opening or closing the practice.
This role could be ideal if:
You've developed excellent organisational and people skills in a previous role and are now looking for a part-time position where your work genuinely makes a difference.
Perhaps you're returning to work, looking for better work-life balance, or simply want to be part of a team whose values align with your own.
Experience in healthcare isn't essential. We can teach our systems and processes. What matters most is that you're organised, emotionally intelligent, enjoy working with people and genuinely care about providing an exceptional experience.
Why join us?
We're a small, friendly team who care deeply about our patients and about one another.
We believe in helping people understand their options so they can make informed decisions about their care.
If you're the sort of person who remembers names, enjoys making people feel welcome, and takes pride in creating calm from busy days, we think you'll feel at home here.
If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
If this role feels like it was written with you in mind, we'd love to hear from you.
