Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Deli and Butchery Counter Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring smooth operation at the counter. Duties
- Serve customers efficiently at the counter, taking orders and processing payments accurately
- Assist with food preparation and presentation to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area in accordance with food safety regulations
- Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while providing friendly recommendations
- Manage stock levels and restock supplies as needed during shifts
- Handle customer enquiries courteously and resolve any issues promptly
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including food safety standards and hygiene protocols
- Ensure timely service during busy periods by managing multiple tasks effectively
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience in food preparation, serving, or culinary roles is advantageous
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently during busy periods
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers
- Kitchen experience or culinary background is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and professional demeanour
