We're looking for an exceptional Head of Finance to join our Senior Management Team, playing a pivotal role in driving financial performance, supporting strategic growth and leading a high-performing finance function across our expanding healthcare group.
Working closely with our Finance Director, you'll be far more than a numbers expert. You'll be a trusted business partner, influencing key decisions, identifying commercial opportunities and helping shape the future of the organisation.

What you'll be doing
As Head of Finance, you'll oversee the day-to-day operation of our Finance department while supporting the strategic direction of the organisation. You'll lead multiple specialist teams and ensure Finance is viewed as a valued business partner across the hospital and wider LycaHealth Group.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing our Financial Accounts, Commercial Finance, Business Finance and Clinical Coding teams.
- Partnering with the Finance Director, Hospital Director and Senior Leadership Team to improve financial performance and deliver strategic objectives.
- Producing timely management accounts, financial reports, forecasts and meaningful business insights.
- Driving commercial decision-making through robust financial analysis.
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial planning.
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, efficiency and performance across the organisation.
- Managing statutory compliance and leading the annual external audit process.
- Supporting business growth across multiple LycaHealth sites through the delivery of shared finance services.
- Coaching and influencing managers across the business to improve financial understanding and accountability.
- Deputising for the Finance Director when required.
About you
You'll be an experienced finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with commercial awareness and outstanding leadership skills.
You'll have:
- A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant experience in a senior finance leadership position.
- A strong commercial mindset with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
- Excellent analytical, forecasting and financial modelling skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using the wider Microsoft Office suite.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
We'd also love it if you have:
- Previous healthcare finance experience, ideally within the independent sector.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
