Job Title: Support Worker
Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer (Mum)
Hours: Variable working hours
Hourly Rate of Pay: £13.00
Based at: Employer’s own home in Ipswich, Suffolk.
Job Purpose
The family are looking for a experienced carer who can provide references for their 7 year old daughter. She has got limited vocabulary and high care needs, has a revoir in place, epilepsy, autism and a few other conditions which will be discussed at interview. The family will be needing somebody who can drive with their own vehicle, to take her out for few hours per visit into the community and the family are in the countryside but 15 mins from Ipswich Whitehouse.
The family are looking for somebody who can do flexible hours as it will vary mostly during holidays but as stated it varies due to classes Mum has on some evenings and possibly weekends every so often. Must be willing to undergo emergency epilepsy medication training and possibly training needed in the future as well as regularly refreshers. Ideally this person will have experience with working with disabled children with medical needs as well as SEN needs.
Personal Specification
- Flexible in the hours and times that you can work.
- Experience with caring for children is essential.
- Preferred experience with working with children with SEN needs.
- You should have a thorough understanding of personal safety.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- You should have knowledge and understanding of risks.
- Be patient and supportive.
