Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to learn in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is essential in supporting our chefs with food preparation and ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of meals and ingredients, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Support chefs with cooking tasks and food assembly as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes and utensils, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all kitchen staff and customers.
- Help with inventory management by keeping storage areas tidy and stock well organised.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, especially in schools, colleges and contract catering
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new culinary techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
