Job Summary
Our wedding business, Embers, specialises in live fire cooking at weddings and events at some of the most beautiful venues in the region. We've catered for the odd celeb and even royalty.
This job provides a good work life balance for the industry. We don't take on an unmanageable amount of work, with plenty of admin time throughout the year. The event manager leaves the wedding site after the wedding breakfast is served and the van packed so no very late nights. And we normally only have 1 wedding day per week. At Christmas we have two very busy stalls at the York Christmas market that you will then help to organise and run.
As a wedding and event manager, you will play a pivotal role in creating memorable and seamless wedding experiences for couples. You will be responsible for managing many aspects of the wedding planning, from replying to initial inquiries to managing the front of house at the event. Your expertise in hospitality and organisational skills will ensure that each wedding reflects the couple's vision while maintaining high standards of service. Many aspects can be done remotely - other than event set up and event days.
Duties
- Replying to inquiries swiftly
- Consult with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and budget for their wedding.
- Develop comprehensive wedding plans that include quotes, timelines and rotas.
- Help manage logistics of the wedding set up and wedding day.
- Provide exceptional guest services to ensure a positive experience for all attendees.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with clients throughout the planning process.
Requirements
- Proven experience in event planning or hospitality management is preferred.
- Managed a team of waiters/ waitresses before.
- Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with clients and vendors.
- A passion for weddings and a keen eye for detail will set you apart in this role.
- Preferably have experience using Britebiz, our CRM software.

Tues - Thurs: Admin
Friday: Event set up
Saturday: Event
Sun - Mon: Days off.
Pay
Salaried for anyone wanting 40 hours a week or can be hourly (£14.50 ph) for anyone wanting the flexibility of shorter mid week days.

Spring: Tastings then start of weddings
Summer: Weddings
Autumn: Last weddings and help organise Christmas events
Winter: Very busy Christmas events
