We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our growing team based in Huddersfield. This role is ideal for someone with a strong electrical background and proven experience in electrical contracting sector. You will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates, supporting project delivery, and ensuring competitive tender submissions in order to win new contracts throughout the surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, including materials, labour, and subcontractor costs.
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
- Analyse project requirements and identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify scope and requirements.
- Support the preparation and submission of tenders and proposals.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates and pricing data to determine trends in pricing and take into account trends in the industry.
- Assist in value engineering exercises to optimise project costs.
- Stay up to date with industry standards, regulations, and pricing trends.
- Keen attention to compliance as some sites can be classed as having stringent compliance policies in place.

Job Requirements:
- Strong electrical background (relevant electrical engineering experience essential).
- Previous experience in an estimating role within electrical contracting.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications to produce Bom’s.
- Commercial awareness and strong numerical skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Experience with large-scale industrial or commercial projects.
- Knowledge of current UK electrical regulations (e.g. BS 7671).
- Familiarity with project management processes and cost control.
