We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Recruitment & Engagement Officer to join our team. Duties
Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:
- Group and site induction.
- A Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in recruitment
- Previous experience in working within an FMCG environment desirable but not essential
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethical, and cultural awareness
- Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude with excellent organisational skills
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, and comfortable learning new systems as needed
- Evidenced experience in building effective relationships at all levels within a business
- Innovative with a proven track record of working proactively
- Energy, execution, and accountability in all activities
- Flexible to meet business needs
- Be conversant with four strategic pillars (QVIP). Champion this within the department and the wider site
- Has knowledge of appropriate systems, processes & procedures
- Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure a deep understanding of the needs of the business and the department to create innovative and engaging job adverts for current openings that attract the right people
- Source applicants through various methods including advertising, job sites, career fairs, online platforms, etc.
- Keep up to date with employment law changes relevant for recruitment
- Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting
- Screen candidates by reviewing CVs and job applications, perform phone screenings and update candidates on hiring processes
- Schedule and coordinate interviews cooperatively with hiring managers (send calendar invite to managers/ invite candidates to interviews by text messages and emails)
- Support interviews, when necessary, and as required
- Ensure interviewing managers have appropriate recruitment skills and training
- Design appropriate interview questions and assessments and advise managers of various selection methods to hire best candidate for the role
- Be able to accurately create a full new starter pack, everytime, for potential employees including all pre-employment documents
- Facilitate pre-employment testing where necessary
- RTW check and Pre/Settlement check and track
- Maintain Applicant Tracking Spreadsheets ensuring the data contained within it is up to date and accurate at all times
- Provide an engaging and supportive candidate experience, maintaining regular contact with candidates and liaising with hiring managers to effectively manage expectations
- Draft rejection letters and provide communication in writing to all applicants whether successful/unsuccessful prior to/after interview
- Manage the recruitment email inboxes daily
- Continuous improvement of candidate experience
- Utilise recruitment systems to their fullest, ensuring feedback to candidates at every stage
- Take ownership and responsibility for all systems and processes for the advertisement of roles including but not limited to Internal and external Cranswick sites, Indeed, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.
- Provide regular reports and KPI’s on recruitment projects and status against targets including cost to hire and time to hire
- Coordinate and implement recruiting initiatives including school careers initiatives, universities and job fairs
- Promote careers in younger generations through proactive links with schools
- Support candidates on-boarding and induction
- Support and suggest engagement activities across both sites
- Employee records management – upload new starter information onto systems
- Any other activities relating to the needs of the business as directed by the HR Manager / General Manager
Skills
- Proven experience in lead generation for recruitment purposes using multiple sourcing channels.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with candidates, hiring managers, and external partners.
- Familiarity with ATS systems such as Workday, Taleo, PeopleSoft, or similar HRIS platforms.
- Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM tools for relationship management and candidate engagement.
- Experience with social media management for employer branding campaigns.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of human resources practices related to recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement.

Pay: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
