Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating large commercial vehicles to transport goods efficiently across various routes. Your expertise in driving and delivering will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 trucks, including flatbed vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
- Load and secure cargo on flatbed trailers, ensuring proper weight distribution and stability during transit
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules and optimize fuel consumption
- Complete accurate delivery documentation, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and mileage records
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered during routes
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed loads and delivery operations
- Strong understanding of driving regulations and safety procedures for large vehicles
- Experience in delivery driver roles with a focus on timely and secure cargo handling
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as securing loads on flatbeds
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards site members and team members
