We are currently recruiting for a Material Controller to join a busy residential construction site in Arundel, West Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and motivated individual with previous construction materials or logistics experience who is looking to build a long-term career within the construction industry.
This role offers genuine career progression, including the opportunity to move into a Trainee Site Management position for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of construction materials
- Coordinating deliveries and ensuring materials are available when required
- Monitoring stock levels and maintaining accurate records
- Conducting regular stock checks and inventory control
- Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and site management teams
- Ensuring the site remains organised, safe, and efficient
- Assisting with general site logistics and operational support
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times
RequirementsEssential:
- Previous experience as a Material Controller, Stores Person, Logistics Coordinator, Yard Controller, or similar construction-based role
- Valid CSCS Card
- Full PPE
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good understanding of construction site operations
Desirable:
- Residential housebuilding experience
- Forklift certification (not essential)
- Ambition to progress into site management
