Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to develop precise cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to gather pricing information and market data
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that include material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs
- Conduct cost control assessments throughout the project lifecycle to ensure budgets are maintained
- Review subcontractor and vendor quotes for accuracy and competitiveness
- Assist in value engineering efforts to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, revisions, and supporting documentation for transparency and future reference
Qualifications
- Proven experience in estimating within construction, manufacturing, or related industries
- Strong understanding of cost control principles and budgeting techniques
- Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Effective communication skills to clearly present estimates and collaborate with team members
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts accurately
