Job Overview
GC Doors is seeking 2 experienced self-employed uPVC Window & Door Fitters to support our installation team on a residential replacement project in South London.
The role involves the removal of existing timber windows and the installation of new uPVC box sash, bay and casement windows, together with uPVC door sets. You will be working alongside our in-house installation team. All windows, doors and installation materials will be supplied by GC Doors..
Responsibilities
- Safely remove existing timber windows and doors.
- Install new uPVC windows and doors, including box sash, bay and casement windows.
- Ensure all units are level, plumb, square and securely fixed.
- Apply expanding foam, fixings and external-grade silicone to achieve a weatherproof finish.
- Carry out external finishing to a high professional standard.
- Check that all windows and doors operate correctly and are fully operational.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area throughout the project.
- Work collaboratively with the GC Doors in-house installation team.
- Report any issues or site variations promptly to the GC Doors Project Manager.
- Complete all installation works in accordance with current industry standards and health and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a window & door fitter specialising in uPVC installations
- Strong background in construction-related trades such as roofing, carpentry, masonry, or plastering is advantageous
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques
- Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Valid UK driving licence preferred for transportation between sites
- Experience with electrical systems or plumbing is a plus but not essential
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to different site conditions and problem-solve effectively
Essential Experience
Applicants must have:
- Proven experience installing uPVC windows and doors.
- Experience fitting uPVC box sash windows, including bay window installations, is essential.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

- Valid Public Liability Insurance.
- UTR number.
- Ability to invoice GC Doors (payments processed under CIS).
- Right to work in the UK.
