About us
We’re the only remaining UK manufacturer of precision agricultural spray nozzles. Based in Harlow, we design and make low-drift nozzles (including our well-known Air Bubble Jets and newer ranges that achieve up to 90% drift reduction) along with liquid fertiliser applicators. Our own products are manufactured on site, and we’re focused on products that help farmers spray more accurately while reducing environmental impact. We also supply a large range of sprayer accessories and spares.

The role
We’re looking for an Assistant Technical Development Engineer to support the ongoing design, testing and improvement of our nozzle and applicator ranges. You’ll also help support customers with technical queries. You’ll work closely with the team on practical technical development — helping turn ideas into reliable, high-performing products that farmers can trust.
What you’ll be doing
- Assisting with the technical design and development of new and improved low-drift nozzles and related products
- Supporting laboratory testing (including droplet analysis and drift reduction evaluation)
- Helping prepare prototypes and running practical trials
- Recording test results clearly and helping analyse performance data
- Contributing technical ideas for product improvements that reduce drift and maintain good coverage
- Working with manufacturing colleagues to ensure designs are practical to produce
- Keeping clear technical records and supporting documentation
- Supporting customers with technical queries about our nozzles, accessories and application advice
- Helping resolve product-related questions and providing practical guidance to farmers, dealers and end users
What we’re looking for
- A practical, hands-on approach and genuine interest in how things work
- Ideally a relevant engineering, mechanical or agricultural engineering background
- Comfortable with basic CAD or technical drawing (or willing to learn)
- Good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
- Clear communication skills and a friendly, helpful manner when dealing with customers
- Ability to work as part of a small team and use initiative
- A can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in
Previous experience in product development, testing, plastics, agricultural machinery or technical customer support would be useful but is not essential — the right person with the right mind-set will learn quickly here.
