Overview
Part time – 17.5 hours per week (flexible, including occasional evenings and weekends)
Annual salary - £38 – £43,000 pa FTE depending on qualifications and experience
We are seeking to employ two part-time Pastoral Consultants as part of our team to support the life and work of the United Reformed Church in the Eastern Synod. Both would be 0.5 FTE and would serve our congregations in Suffolk or Essex.
These posts are offered on 2-year fixed term contracts and will be reviewed within 18 months. In outline, the roles are to offer support to local churches: to their members, elders and ministers, working alongside Synod staff / office holders and ministers.
The employer would be the United Reformed Church (Eastern Province) Trust, which is a registered charity that acts as a Property Holding Trustee for church property and investments of churches within the Eastern Synod of The United Reformed Church. The Eastern Synod encompasses Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and parts of Hertfordshire. It is a Christian organisation that acts as an umbrella or resource body and makes grants to individuals and organisations.
As part of the interview, you are asked to prepare a ten-minute presentation, as if to a local church, on your choice of subject to display the essential knowledge and skills and abilities listed in the person specification. (The panel will not be role playing, but a discussion will follow about the content, assumptions, method etc.)
