Beacon Counselling Trust (BCT) is an established mental health education and support organisation, offering services across the North West of England, and nationally. BCT have led many mental health programmes since it was established in 2010. Currently BCT lead on gambling harms treatment and support across the North West, including education and training programmes for professionals in supporting roles, helping them to understand and tackle the issue of gambling harms. BCT also lead the Armed Forces Gambling Support Network, offering specialist training to armed forces organisations, upskilling them in the area of gambling harms, as well as free and specialist treatment and support to those within the armed forces community who have been impacted by gambling harms. BCT’s suicide bereavement service ‘Paul’s Place’ offers holistic free and confidential support and therapy for those who have been bereaved by suicide across Merseyside.
Role
We are seeking a creative, skilled and highly organised Visual Assets Lead to support the development of high-quality visual and educational materials for Beacon Counselling Trust, supporting with resources and visual aids on our gambling harms and suicide bereavement programmes.
The successful individual will have strong graphic design skills and experience using industry-standard design and editing software to develop accessible, engaging and professional materials for a range of audiences.
The role will involve translating our mental health support modelling, and education and training materials into visually engaging resources to reach a variety of audiences including public health teams, key stakeholders and service-users.
We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable in the areas of mental health, and understand the importance of handling the language and materials around our mental health programmes in an appropriate and sensitive manner.
This role will require someone who is able to work well across different teams, has good communication skills and is collaborative. Several members of the team
Key Responsibilities
- Design and produce high-quality visual assets across digital and printed formats.
- Develop PowerPoint presentations, educational resources, booklets, leaflets, posters, infographics and promotional materials.
- Develop templates and visual styles to support consistency across organisational materials.
- Ensure all materials are accessible, inclusive, professional and appropriate for their intended audience.
- Work with clinical, training and subject-matter colleagues to develop engaging training presentations and resources.

Essential Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in graphic design or visual communications.
- Experience using relevant graphic design and editing software.
- Strong proficiency in creating professional PowerPoint presentations.
- Experience producing printed and digital resources, such as booklets, leaflets, posters and educational materials.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of visual consistency and branding.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to respond positively to feedback from the wider team.
This is a self-employed/freelance role, requiring the successful candidate to manage their own workload and agree deliverables and deadlines with BCT.

Pay: £20.00-£50.00 per hour
