We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and patient Childcare Worker to join our team. You will be supporting children aged 8–17 who have experienced trauma, helping them to heal, grow, and thrive. This role involves creating a safe and nurturing environment, fostering development through engaging activities, and ensuring each child’s emotional and physical well-being at all times.
As our service continues to expand, there will be scope for progression into senior positions such as Key Worker or Team Leader for the right candidate. We invest in our people through fully funded professional qualifications, including the Level 3 Diploma in Childcare, which leads to enhanced remuneration upon completion and supports career advancement within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and actively engage with children in a safe, stimulating environment.
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and personal growth.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and professionals regarding each child’s progress and needs.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming home environment.
- Support behaviour management strategies, encouraging positive peer interactions.
- Assist with daily routines such as meals, education, leisure, and bedtime.
- Accompany children to appointments, activities, and outings, ensuring safety and supervision at all times.
- Keep accurate written records of events, incidents, and safety checks.
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience working with children or vulnerable groups in a professional or personal capacity.
- Residential childcare experience is highly desirable.
- Previous experience managing mental health needs or behaviour that challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to guide and support children’s development and behaviour.
- Good written English skills for accurate record-keeping.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting children when necessary.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.75-£14.00 per hour
